How to review a converted email archive

Use the package index and reports to inspect what was converted, what was preserved and what needs attention.

Start with the index

Open manifest.xlsx or manifest.csv and filter by source name, sender, subject, date and conversion status. The workbook includes message and attachment information plus a summary.

Read warnings and errors

Check errors.csv and per-message status before relying on the output. A failed or warned message is identified in the reports; do not assume that a partial archive means every source was converted.

Check attachments and hashes

Use the attachment sheet to see each discovered attachment's parent email, detected type, size, SHA-256, handling action and archive path. When enabled, checksums.sha256 lists packaged PDF and attachment members so their bytes can be compared after download.

Optional merged PDF

You can request one chronological PDF in addition to the individual message PDFs, choose oldest-first or newest-first order, and include a contents page. Undated messages are ordered last. The merged PDF is a convenience view; the separate message PDFs and archive remain available.

Interpret the result carefully

Package reconciliation detects missing, duplicate or byte-mismatched generated ZIP members and blocks normal ready status. It cannot prove that a source mailbox was complete, that every malformed input was understood, or that email is authentic evidence. Review the input inventory and reports for the scope of your own task.
